Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program

 In Grade 11 or 12, you can start your investigation and training in an apprenticeship trade through the cooperative education program. Students explore and gain training in apprenticeship occupations starting in Grade 11 or Grade 12 through the Co-operative Education program. They have an opportunity to become registered apprentices and work towards becoming certified in a skilled trade while completing their secondary school diplomas.

  • 1 in 5 new job openings in Ontario will be in skilled trades-related occupations by 2028
  • There are over 150 skilled trades to choose from in 4 main categories - Construction, Industrial, Motive Power, Service
