The Secondary Arts Program is a 4-year art program for YRDSB students who are committed to exploring and deepening their understanding of the arts. The program offers a package of specialized arts credits (2 per year) that count towards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Students will receive a certificate upon completion.
Arts Westmount Students receive daily arts instruction from Grade 9 through Grade 12 in specialized studio spaces with specialized arts educators. The Arts West Education Team works closely with professional artists to provide students with enhanced experiences including in-class guest artist workshops, lessons, field trips and even extended trips.
Arts Westmount provides multiple opportunities for its students to perform or exhibit their work each year. While most performances and exhibitions are held at the City Playhouse Theatre, which is attached to Westmount Collegiate Institute (WCI), students also perform and exhibit their talents at WCI, and are invited to perform at YRDSB events and in community locations.
