Welcome to the Visual Arts department.
Our department fosters an environment for students to engage in the creative process to express their individual styles and grow to their artistic potential. Students will explore a range of different materials, processes, and art making techniques when producing their artworks, and will have opportunities to showcase their work. Through hands-on assignments, students will build creative and teamwork skills that are valuable in the changing world. Through an understanding of art history, and promotion of critical thinking and analytical skills, students will gain an appreciation for past, present, and future culture in the world of art.

Our Visual Arts Courses
Arts West - Visual Arts Certificate
Westmount is home to one of four regional arts programs for students who want to immerse themselves in the arts experience, and consider pursuing post-secondary education in the arts. Students progress through the years as part of a cohort from grades 9-12 and are provided with additional opportunities, experience, and training in Visual Arts.
Entrance is by application and audition.
